Flights BFD LLC was born
Thor and Christina met when Christina was learning to fly hang gliders and Thor was managing the training program at Lookout Mountain. Christina's love of wine and Thor's deep knowledge and interest in brewing as well as their shared enjoyment of good whiskey has led to this new endeavour.
We will see where it takes us.
Christina Thoreson
Since a long-ago trip to Napa Valley, California in another lifetime, Christina has wanted to work and play in the wine business. In early 2023, Thor and Christina decided she should pursue her interest in wine. This decision led to her completing her WSET Levels 1, 2, and 3 with distinction and merit.
Next up, Professional Wine Education and then on to WSET Diploma.
Christian 'Thor' Thoreson
Thor returned home to the States after eight years in Germany during which he served in the US Army and was attached to German Customs. One thing Deutschland had that USA was missing was good beer. He decided to become a craft brewer through the UC Davis certificate program, and he successfully completed that in about 1998. Thor brewed beer until craft brews became ubiquitous and tasty.
